‘Sober (Over You)’ is the third single from Berlin-via-Brighton artist Melis and once again it’s a heart shattering piece of indie-pop that showcases this singer-songwriter’s genuine ability for lyricism, song structure and production. As with predecessors ‘Love Song Idea’ and ‘Flower’, it’s the unique beauty of Melis’ fragile voice that pierces through the silence, sparse piano and sparkling electronica. The way that the track organically flows is similar to ‘Flower’; growing from pop minimalism to a sobering melody and eventually blooming into a resplendent soundscape of 80's drum machines, alternative synths, tambourine taps and delicate electronic guitar refrains.
